This young, beautiful fluff is Hamilton! He is big, he is goofy, and he is such a love! Ham is overall a pretty laid-back dude, but he definitely still has a lot of puppy energy! Hamilton enjoys long walks on the streets (or short ones are great too), sprawling across couches, and having someone to love. Hamilton loves to play with other dogs, is great with cats, and becomes best friends with every person he meets! Unfortunately, Hamilton had to go to the vet recently for limping. X-rays show symptoms of Osteochondrosis: a developmental disorder in young, large-breed dogs that often leads to joint degeneration. There are many options that can significantly improve the prognosis and delay degeneration to give him several, several years of a very happy life. One of the treatments of this disease is surgery which we may pursue. We have an orthopedic consult scheduled at the vet school for 1/18/18 to discuss all possible options and prognoses. Hamilton isn’t completely ready to get adopted yet, but as we await the results of our consult, we’re currently accepting applications for him!
