Introducing Diamond! Diamond is a two-and-a-half year old pit bull mix. She's great with other people and dogs, but she is nervous around cats so she can be cage aggressive towards them. She is just the sweetest love bug and is very eager to please. She has already learned "kennel" in less than a week! Her favorite spot is right behind you on the couch or following you around. She also loves her belly rubs! She hasn't always known where her food is coming from, so she's working on gaining some weight and eating a good diet right now. Because of this she will search around the house and outside for food a lot, so she will need a home where she is crated when left alone. She does great in the crate and will happily go into it when you ask. Her foster thinks she would do great in a home with another dog because it helps with her anxiety. She spent most of her life in a car or a shed outside, so she is happiest when with you or another dog, and she is so grateful for everything!

Please read through our adoption policies and requirements at www.awfpva.org/adoptions prior to requesting an application.

We require all animals in the household to be up-to-date on core vaccines. Dogs must be vaccinated against rabies, canine distemper, and Bordetella. Cats must be vaccinated against rabies and feline distemper.

All of our animals are in foster homes. We will schedule meet and greets after approving your adoption application to ensure our fosters are only meeting with serious applicants. Please allow 1-2 week for approval as AWFP is is run by volunteers who are full-time veterinary students.
